The pathogenesis of Chronic Rhinosinusitis is an ever-evolving field, with significant developments in the understanding of the etiopathogenesis of primary CRS, and those factors associated with higher rates of relapse. We have brought together international leaders in the field of rhinology to deliver a one day symposium and evidence-based update in rhinosinusitis.
Aims of Lectures
- Recognise the anatomic configurations of complex sinonasal anatomy.
- Define the optimum preoperative treatments including discussion of endotypes of CRS and the role of biologic treatments.
- Outline the advanced surgical procedures available including Prelacrimal Recess Approach, Endoscopic Maxillectomy and Modified Endoscopic Lothrop / Draf 3.
- Illustrate the postoperative treatment options that increase the chance of a successful outcome.
The course will continue with a two day Frontal Sinus Masterclass in which delegates will be offered an intensive and tailored teaching programme aimed at developing confidence and competence in frontal sinus surgery with close supervision from world renowned faculty.
Aims of Dissection Course
- Develop confidence in assessing tri-planar CT Sinus scans to accurately identify the configuration of the cellular structure of the frontal recess using the International Frontal Sinus Anatomy Classification (IFAC).
- Recognise how different anatomical configurations alter the frontal sinus drainage pathway and use this knowledge to plan the surgical steps to treat the frontal sinus.
- Review the steps and landmarks when performing a Modified Endoscopic Lothrop / Draf 3
