Associate Professor Yvonne Chan

Yvonne Chan is an associate professor and the director of continuing professional development in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto (U of T) in Ontario, Canada. In addition, she is the Otolaryngologist-in-chief at St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health. She is the past chair of the Rhinology Working Group of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery. 

After obtaining her medical degree from U of T, Dr Chan completed an otolaryngology residency there. She subsequently completed a rhinology fellowship at the Georgia Nasal & Sinus Institute in Savannah, GA, USA, with Dr. Fred Khun, and an advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery fellowship at the University of Adelaide in Australia with Prof PJ Wormald and Alkis Psaltis.

Dr Chan is co-editor of the 11th and 12th editions of the well-known otolaryngology textbook K. J. Lee’s Essential Otolaryngology. Other books that she has co-edited include Rhinology and Allergy: Clinical Reference Guide, Health Care Reform Through Practical Clinical Guidelines: Ear Nose Throat, and Essential Paths to Life After Residency.
